To find out what is true, there must be a sense of aloneness. There must be freedom. You cannot travel very far if you are bound to something. If you are bound to your country, to your tradition, to your ways of thought, if you are bound to a belief, or a certain form of activity holds you, it is like being tied to a peg. If you want to find out what is true, you must break all tethers.
