Vasanta Vihar welcomes guests who wish to stay solely for the purpose of a quiet retreat and the study of Krishnamurti’s teachings. An oasis of calm in the busy city of Chennai, the old house is surrounded by trees and has an air of timeless beauty. Krishnamurti gave many talks at Vasanta Vihar.

Vasanta Vihar is also the headquarters of the Krishnamurti Foundation India. The focus of life at Vasanta Vihar is the Study Centre which is open to guests on the campus and visitors from the city. It has a wide range of Krishnamurti’s works, biographies and memoirs of Krishnamurti, including a large collection of audio and video recordings, monographs, bulletins and newsletters.

Vasanta Vihar holds periodic weekend residential retreats and public video showings. It has a bookshop on the campus. The guest house provides accommodation for individuals and small groups intending to stay for a few days of quiet retreat. Simple vegetarian food is served.
