You understand death when the mind begins to free itself from the known – not at the end but every day. Every day, to die to everything you have gathered. Die to all the pleasures, which is much more difficult than to die to something unpleasant. Most of us want to die to everything unpleasant, and to die to something pleasurable brings the fear of not having anything.
